Thanks to generous sponsors, this program is completely free for schools. Local businesses and community supporters step up to fund Growums programs in school districts that matter to them—sometimes right in their own backyard. If you’d like to see a program like this brought to your child’s school or district, reach out to us. We’re always looking to launch new programs and connect sponsors with schools in their community.

At the second week of the program, your child will bring home their own Growums Garden Kit—a fun and easy way to keep the learning growing at home.
Â
While the classroom garden is a shared experience, the take-home kit is your child’s personal garden to plant, care for, and watch flourish. Each week, they’ll apply what they’re learning in class—like plant parts, growth stages, and care techniques—to their own garden at home, reinforcing skills through real-world practice.
Â
Each kit includes:
- 8 soil pods—just add water!
- 4 types of seeds (16 total plants, depending on the kit)
- A growing tray for convenient setup
- Access to online growing instructions at Growums.com
Parents can create a free account to follow along with weekly tips and guidance, perfectly timed to match what students are learning in school—just one week behind the classroom schedule.

The kids have already started using the Growums gardens so we have little green plants growing all over the school, which is cool!
My son is so excited about his garden. Easy to use and sprouts quickly.
